My recent stay at Thompson Denver, situated in the vibrant LoDo district, offered a mixed bag of experiences that evoke the bittersweet nature of solo travel. While the hotel boasts a terrific location—just a leisurely stroll from Union Station and bustling Larimer Square—the highlights were a bit overshadowed by my room's initial issues. We arrived excited to find our Mountain View room unavailable, but thankfully, the staff, particularly Chris at the front desk, were genuinely accommodating. The amenities were splendid, featuring plush bathrobes and a spacious shower, which provided a welcome sanctuary after long days exploring the city. Despite the hiccups, the air of serenity within the hotel was palpable, making it difficult not to appreciate the thoughtful touches like complimentary water and a conveniently located coffee shop on the first floor. While there were moments that could have been smoother, the urban charm and attentive staff made my visit memorable, reminding me that travel is as much about the journey as it is about the destination.
